- Project Outline -
- Introduction -
This project centered around strategic human resource planning in the pharmaceutical sector. More specifically, it focused on preparing the company for digitalisation. The company in question was Sanofi.
Sanofi came to us with three questions that they wanted answers to regarding the digital economy in the pharmaceutical sector:
 - How does the organisation identify the necessary skill sets needed among existing staff?
 - How does the company prepare its employees?
 - How does the organisation identify if there will be new strategic and technical roles?
I was part of a team of four people. We called ourselves 'Pharma HR Solutions'. We each brought something different to the table. My background in engineering meant that I had a good understanding of the pharmaceutical sector and could understand and interact with the client easily.
- Project Timeline -

Project process from start to finish

The project lasted 10 weeks. Each member of the team conducted initial research, mainly about the client and the sector they are operating in. The next step was to meet with the client and learn about the problems they were encountering. After the meeting with the client we had a debrief meeting as a team to identify the core issue and outline the next steps to proceed with the project. We divided up the research into four parts, and each team member conducted their own research. We had regular weekly meetings as a team to keep each other up-to-date on progress. We had a shared Google Document where we added information found. We also kept in contact with the client through email just giving them updates on our work and asking any questions we deemed essential. Next, we had a final meeting with the client where we outlined what we found in the research. This was done with the aid of a poster. Based on this research, we gave our recommendations to the client, also outlining the implications of each of these recommendations, such as cost and timing.
- My Role -
My tasks in this project included interviewing the client to evaluate project parameters and devised a project plan based on the client needs. I also researched potential solutions by looking at how other companies prepared for digitalisation, both in the pharmaceutical sector and in other sectors . I collaborated with my team to analyse our solutions and choose which was the best for the client. We later presented our suggestions to the client in the form of a poster. The poster, which is shown below, was used as a visual aid as we presented our findings, recommendations and possible implications to the client. This poster also was a great way to summarise our findings and display them in a concise manner. Finally, I took on the role of gathering all of the information we found and organised it into a detailed document to send to the client.

- What I Learned -
- This consultancy project was completed remotely due to the global pandemic.
- I learned about the protocol of working with a client.
- I used Powerpoint to design this poster.
